Last updated: 15 May 2026

No. 225/2018. If the required gas work falls outside our certification we will refer you to a certified RGI partner.

3. Bookings & Contract Formation

Submitting an enquiry through our website, WhatsApp or by phone is a request for a quotation, not a contract. A binding contract is formed only once we have issued a written quotation (by email or WhatsApp) and you have accepted it — either in writing or by allowing work to begin.

You must provide accurate information about the property, access conditions and the work required. We reserve the right to refuse or withdraw from work that is unsafe, outside our certified scope, or different from what was described at the quotation stage.

4. Pricing & Payment

  • All prices are quoted in euros (€), inclusive of VAT where applicable.
  • For straightforward callouts the price is confirmed before work begins; for larger jobs we provide a written quotation.
  • Emergency / out-of-hours rates (weekends, bank holidays, 18:00–08:00) may be higher and will be communicated before dispatch.
  • Parts ordered or specially fabricated to your specification are non-refundable unless faulty.
  • Materials supplied remain our property until paid in full (retention-of-title clause).
  • Payment is due on completion by cash, bank transfer, debit/credit card or other agreed method.
  • Invoices outstanding beyond 14 days may carry interest under the European Communities (Late Payment in Commercial Transactions) Regulations 2012.

5. Cancellations & Right to Cancel

Please give as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations notified more than 24 hours before the appointment are free. Short-notice cancellations (less than 4 hours) or no-shows may incur a callout fee of up to €60 to cover dispatch costs.

Consumer 14-day right to cancel. Under the European Union (Consumer Information, Cancellation and Other Rights) Regulations 2013, you generally have a 14-day cooling-off period when contracting at a distance or off-premises. By expressly requesting that emergency or scheduled work begin within this 14-day period, you ask us to start performance: once the work is fully performed your right to cancel is lost; if work is partially performed when you cancel, you must pay for the part already done. This express request is confirmed in writing in the quotation.

6. Guarantee & Statutory Rights

We carry out our services with reasonable skill and care, as required by the Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act 1980 and the Consumer Rights Act 2022.

  • Workmanship guarantee: 12 months from completion, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Materials / parts: covered by the manufacturer's warranty period (typically 12–60 months).
  • The guarantee does not cover damage caused by misuse, third-party intervention, fair wear and tear or pre-existing faults outside the agreed scope.
  • Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.

7. Liability

We hold full insurance cover (see section 1). Our total liability for any direct loss is limited to the value of the work for which payment was received, except where:

  • Liability cannot lawfully be limited (death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, breach of statutory consumer rights);
  • Our insurance policy provides higher cover, in which case the insurer's policy limit applies.

We are not liable for indirect, consequential or purely economic loss (lost rent, lost business, etc.), or for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control (force majeure, severe weather, supply-chain disruption, third-party utility failures, authority orders).

8. Customer Obligations & Site Access

  • Provide safe and timely access to the work area for the duration of the appointment.
  • Disclose known issues with the system (previous leaks, repairs, hidden pipes/cables).
  • Move or protect furniture and personal items from the immediate work area.
  • Keep children and pets clear of the work area for safety.
  • For tenanted properties, confirm authorisation from the landlord/owner before work begins.

9. Complaints & Dispute Resolution

If you are unhappy with our work, please contact us first at contact@localplumberdublin.ie within 14 days of completion. We respond within 10 working days and seek an amicable resolution.

If we cannot resolve a dispute, you may refer the matter to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), Bloom House, Railway Street, Dublin 1, www.ccpc.ie, or use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

10. Data Protection

We process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms. Our supervisory authority is the Irish Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).

11. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Irish law. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts. Where you contract as a consumer, your statutory protections under Irish and EU consumer law are not affected, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence.

12. Severability & Changes

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect. We may amend these Terms from time to time; the version applicable to your contract is the one in force on the date we provide the quotation.
