Cookie Policy

Last updated: 15 May 2026

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to recognise your device and remember information about your visit. We also use similar storage technologies such as localStorage.

2. Legal basis

This Cookie Policy is issued in line with the EU ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC, the Irish European Communities (Electronic Communications Networks and Services) (Privacy and Electronic Communications) Regulations 2011 (S.I. 336/2011), and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Strictly necessary cookies are placed without consent; any other category requires your opt-in via the cookie banner.

3. Cookies used on this website

3.1 Strictly necessary cookies (always active)

These cookies are essential for the site to function and cannot be switched off.

3.2 Analytics / advertising cookies

We currently do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or any advertising/tracking cookies. Should we activate such services in future, we will load them only after your explicit consent via the cookie banner.

4. Third-party services that do NOT set cookies on our site

  • Web3Forms (USA) — used by the contact form to deliver enquiries to our email; no cookies are set on your device by this service.
  • Hostinger (servers in Germany) — collects server log data (IP, browser, time of visit) for security and diagnostics; these are not cookies and are kept at most 90 days.
  • WhatsApp click-out — when you click the WhatsApp button you are redirected to wa.me/whatsapp.com; only at that point do their cookies apply.
  • Google Fonts — at present we load the Inter font from Google's CDN, which transmits your IP address to Google Ireland Ltd. We are migrating to self-hosted fonts to remove this dependency.

5. Managing your preferences

On your first visit a banner asks you to accept or refuse non-essential cookies. You can change your choice any time by:

  • clicking «Cookie settings» in the footer (or the cookie button bottom-left after first decision);
  • deleting the lpd_consent_v1 cookie in your browser — the banner will reappear.

6. Browser controls

You can configure your browser to refuse some or all cookies, or to warn you each time. Useful links:

Disabling strictly necessary cookies may stop the cookie banner from remembering your choice.

7. Updates

We may update this policy when technical or legal changes require it. The current version is always the one shown here, dated at the top.

8. Contact

For questions about cookies, email contact@localplumberdublin.ie or call 089 960 5400.
